I need some advice from you stylish mumsnetters. Have struggled to find an outfit for DDs wedding. I want trousers rather than a skirt to hide a leg injury. Have settled on this Phase Eight top and trousers (in blue).

BUT, although it looks OK, the belt at the waist accentuates my round tummy and hips. I'd love to find something similar but with a longer jacket that conceals what's underneath. Wedding is in 3 weeks time and I'm getting desperate. Any ideas for a stylish sophisticated look that conceals rather than accentuates my tummy? Thank you so much.

Did you buy it from John Lewis? I'd make an appointment with their personal stylist and take it with you. Ask her to style it in a way that's flattering or find something else.

That's a good idea. I went round the Oxford street branch and tried on lots of outfits. But I know this was a desperation buy and not really what I'm comfortable wearing.

Big events are stressful when you don't like shopping, or struggle to find clothes you like. I've had a lot of success with the JL personal shopper, for several different events, and there's no pressure to buy anything she suggests. I lack confidence in what looks good on me, and in putting outfits together, so like having an 'expert' to help. It might be a good first option at least, as you are running out of time to trawl the shops yourself.
