Autumn casual / school run capsule wardrobe

Looking for ideas and to share inspiration - I’ve recently lost loads of weight (yay) after 7 years of pregnancies and have no idea what’s on the style menu these days.

I’m an hourglass 14-16, which is tricky as I love the aesthetic of chunky jumpers and camel coats, but haven’t found a combo that works for my figure.

what’s everyone else wearing / planning to wear? I’m mid 30s in case that changes anything :)

totally get what you mean OP! I got this yesterday for £20, and will wear over lots of things. I’m wearing black leggings, long shirt or T-shirt with white leather converse pumps at the mo and as it gets colder will swap to ankle boots and a bum skimming jumper I think. I’m too fat for jeans right now so loving cropped leggings.

@KeepingKeepingOn So for Autumn I’m sticking with the white, coral, camel & sage of summer but my neutrals are darker - black, charcoal & navy. I have a list of my whole wardrobe-

Jeans - black, charcoal, light grey, beige, khaki & sage. These are in a mix of skinny & mom styles & all high waisted.
Trousers - black, black/white, coral, camel & some printed ones in my colour palette. These are either straight or wide leg. I also have some leather trousers/leggings. All are high waisted.
Shirts - black, white
Thin knits - mink, khaki, camel, navy, turquoise to tuck into trousers (I prefer a half tuck)
Chunky knits - black, camel, griege, coral, turquoise
One-pieces - midi dresses in sage, black/white or leopard & a black jumpsuit
Blazers - black & navy. I also have a black leather shirt I use as a blazer
Boots - black Chelsea or feminine biker. White trainers.

Everything mixes & matches quite well I think. Knits are varying thicknesses & blazers mean I can layer up.

I like that that one cones in so many colours. Something for every capsule wardrobe colour palette Smile

Protected species raincoats are lovely. And rains ones. I wear these with mom jeans, nice joggers, leggings, plus a slouchy wool jumper- navy or grey usually, or a nice sweatshirt. Plus trainers. Hair up in messy bun or ponytail. Some simple gold jewelry. I don't think I'm fashionable though, just wear what's comfy and suits me but try to make investment purchases now, if you have a nice coat it doesn't matter too much what's under it. Always do a bit if foundation and bronzer and eyebrow pencil to feel 'done'

Oh and I've added in some wide leg cropped trousers which I wore over the summer and tend to opt for over jeans now. They should last a bit longer until it gets colder

Loving my khaki looser fit trousers from M&S, striped top or a floaty mustard blouse from Monki and navy gazelle trainers. Added a denim jacket if chilly, may get a camel trench. When it’s cold a long khaki puffer from White Stuff was my saviour in the playground last year! Got so many nice comments on it. White Stuff in general have nice playground attire :)

Longline hooded smart waterproof coat in a colour like camel or khaki that goes with anything is a great start.

Ditto pair of boots (I like my wedge heeled Uggs in winter)

Also a good investment is getting your colours done. It really helps you build a capsule wardrobe that all goes.
