Can I have opinions on this outdoor top please?

Hoping I'm allowed to post a link. Just arrived. I've ordered large as I want to be able to wear layers under for winter walks. I just can't decide if it's a bit ugly so appreciate honest opinions. On the plus side it is very very warm.

For context I am rather older and shorter than the model.

I think it's really lovely, and if it's practical and warm as well it's a no brainer in my humble opinion.

LadyKenya · 06/09/2022 19:55

I think it is nice enough.

greenhousegal · 06/09/2022 19:56

It looks nice and comfortable to wear for outdoor stuff. But I would never pay 90 quid for a top for Winter walks. Maybe I am just odd like that, but a much cheaper version or similar would do me and I wouldn't have to worry about mud stains or bird poo!

I like it , I bought their walking leggings last year and they are great quality so I imagine this will be well worth the price.

lovemelongtime · 06/09/2022 20:03

Nice, but well over priced

hobbledyhoy · 06/09/2022 20:10

Perhaps it's just me but £89 seems rather a lot for that piece

Silverpossum · 06/09/2022 20:41

Thanks all! I agree it's overpriced. I got a 20% discount so not so bad. I do like it, I need to try it again (I got some of their water resistant leggings and trousers also) as I'm a bit concerned I look like a tartan barrel.

Absolutely fine, not haute couture but not stomach churningly bad

expensive mind

BakersYeast · 06/09/2022 20:45

I think it's far too much money for something that looks like it could have come from Primark.

I'm not sure I will be able to look at it again without thinking that now 😂

No, too busy and practical looking.

milkysmum · 07/09/2022 07:05

It's fine, you've clearly got the money to spend or you'd have picked something cheaper up.

No, too busy and practical looking.

What's wrong with looking "practical"?

I live in a rural area, and often walk in muddy fields and woods. I would look silly in impractical clothes not suitable for the terrain or weather.

LadyWithLapdog · 07/09/2022 07:16

@RampantIvy the OP didn’t mention muddy fields. It’s ok for that.

WaveyHair · 07/09/2022 07:16

Nice but be careful of ordering too big..it may look a bit like a tent. A decent long sleeve top underneath it ought to do.

She did mention winter walks. Presumably she doesn't mean a bimble down the local high street.

CountryCousin · 07/09/2022 07:25

It honestly is a perfectly ordinary looking garment! (And I guess the price reflects the shower proof fabric.)

Its just frustrating that you’re so unsure about something intended for leisure wear. Why would your height or age matter - are there women who aren’t allowed to wear a checked hoodie?

fellrunner85 · 07/09/2022 07:26

I mean it's fine, but it's a basic outdoorsy top at decent technical kit prices. You could get a really decent outdoor top in breathable material from Rab/ Alpkit/ inov8/ Ronhill/ etc for that money. But that just looks like a top from Next.
I don't really understand the point of it 😄
