Hi everyone,

Over the weekend I had a big sort out of clothes and up top at the back of my cupboard I found a bag of jeans, which I had obviously stored well many years ago, which I totally forgot about. (they were with my wedding dress so they have been there a while). I vaguely recall getting them perhaps 10-12 years ago and put them away for some reason I can't recall.

I am a lot smaller now, so unfortunately they don't fit me, and I think they are too big to alter down to my current size. So I thought I would sell them on, as I am sure someone would like unworn, yet discontinued Levis. Iirc they were bought in the USA and so the sizing is different on the label. One is a size 7 and one is a size 8, so I have worked out they are what we size as 32 and 33 waist. But both of them have the letters L/C next to the size. I have googled and cannot work out what L/C stands for. I need to sell them noting the equivalent sizing really, so if someone asks me what the lettering stands for, I think its something I should be able to answer.... They are 504 and 505 styles.

I have contacted Levi's to ask, and have not had a response. I also called one of their larger stores and no-one there seems to know either.

So if anyone could help me, I will feel less annoyed that I cannot figure this one out.

(I thought it may mean low cut, but one pair is mid rise so I don't think that is it).

List them on e-bay or vinted with photos of the size label and photos of them with a tape measure so that actual measurements can be see as well as the label size. Also state n the description that they were purchased in the USA.

Lots of people sell vintage Levi's and use actual measurements to cover themselves against disputes due to label sizes changing over time.

Thank you for this tip, I will definitely do this as I not 100 sure I have done my conversions correctly.

This was what I thought too, the 504 are quite low rise, but the 505 aren't.

But then maybe they just seem higher in the rise as they are awfully big on me....
