Black leather & a soft autumn/summer colouring.

I've just ordered these faux leather M&S jackets with a 15% off offer. The cream jacket is great and easy to wear with other soft colours. But I have a hankering for the black leather one & as they were selling out fast, I thought I'd take a punt. The problem is black leather is harsh on me & this is shiny. Googling other similar colourings soft scarves are often used but they're not really in at the moment. Any other ideas?

Presumably you’ll be ready for a chunky scarf by next month? Otherwise a big polo neck jumper underneath in a colour that suits you better? If it were me, I’d hold out for one in grey or dark chocolate colour though. It usually takes a bit of hunting to find options in either colour, but there is more brown appearing in the shops this season so you may get lucky!

Wear it open over a colour that suits you? As it’s a shirt jacket I think it would look nice open with a jumper or tee underneath. When it’s too cold for that, wear a scarf or polo - so the colour nearest your face suits you.

I'm the same colouring and I don't think black leather works for us at all, sometimes black suede is more wearable

Echo what pp said, wait for a tan or grey leather jacket

@Caramac555 that's so true.
I can wear a soft fuzzy black like a Cashmere jumper or Suede & Velvet, but the harsh shiny black of leather is so much trickier.
Thank you for the jumper ideas @Valkirie . A Bitter Chocolate sweater is a good one. I do suit nearly all Browns. I have moss green & grey Cashmere Cowlnecks I can try on with the jacket.
@Chilli yes I will definitely be wearing it open if I keep it.
