TU clothing - just not great fits

Does anyone else find that TU clothing aren't great fits? I love some of the stuff but I always find the sleeves aren't long enough. Is it just me? Do I have super long arms?
And some of the items come really small and some really big. Drives me mad!

Very much depends on the item and, if possible, worth reading the reviews on sizing / fit. I buy from a wide variety of companies and, tbh, sizing is often the biggest issue with the clothing and I fail to see why they don't improve this, as it would save them a huge amount on returns!

I find the fit is very hit and miss with TU. Have had some great clothes, and until recently, I could find quite a lot of cotton items. Don't think they are as good as they used to be - but could say that about pretty much every brand.

My current favourite day dress is from Tu - it's the first thing I've actually bought from there for a few years though. As pp said it can be hit and miss but there are some gems occasionally.

HiVisAndWellies · 31/08/2022 16:01

Agree, occasional gems, but I find that anywhere these days. There's nowhere I can rely on for fit, quality and style anymore.

I like it because it does fit me. Whereas f&f at tesco doesn't. We are all different. No one could produce clothing that fits every single person.

That is true. I must have abnormally long arms then! It is such a shame because I like their stuff and it's my closest store

Yes, while they have sone surprisingly nice clothes, sizing is inconsistent. I have a tiny jumper in size 16 and a huge dress in 12.

I live near 2 huge Sainsburys in London. One has totally removed its fitting rooms so I no longer buy clothes from there. I hate having to remember to return stuff and shop at all the supermarkets so never know when I'm next coming back.

With some shops I have a clear idea of who they model the clothes on - h&m likes a straight, athletic shape. RIver is island shorter and hourglass. White stuff and hush are petite and not especially curvy, but perhaps have put on a little weight and likely to be flattered by the generous sizing! So as a tall hourglass I know that I can't wear trousers from any of these shops. I don't have a clear idea of the Tu woman!

I often love stuff on the hanger from TU, but I've never found a single thing that fitted nicely. Personally I find F&F better - though still not perfect. I have long arms too. I often alter supermarket stuff to make it fit better but I wish I didn't have to.

Trousers are always too short in the crotch area

Twinklesun · 01/09/2022 19:14

Look at the tops- they are almost all a boxy square shape. I'm not sure who except the skinnyist of people suit boxy square tops, but i figure they are cheaper to make than more fitted garments. Almost all their tops need a good 10cm added at least to balance out the square shape.

Colours are always on the yucky spectrum at too, so when you do find something that is a decent cut, it is invariably in a yucky colour. I frequently walk round the clothes thinking 'what were they thinking!'

20viona · 01/09/2022 19:15

I always find their clothes massive in comparison with what it says on the hanger. Can easily size down 2 sizes.

WellTidy · 01/09/2022 19:19

I’ve just discovered that I am a 12 petite in their clothes and I have a good few things now. They fit me perfectly, so I am hopeful going forward! Fit wise, I am a size 12 petite in M&S and in Boden, for what that’s worth.

Raindancer411 · 01/09/2022 19:21

They have defiantly changed their sizing over the past year. I have a size 10 pair of skinny jeans that fit lovely. I ordered the same design and size to find they are 2" smaller!!!

GettingStuffed · 01/09/2022 20:57

I have long arms, and legs , and usually end up buying men's sweaters and sweatshirts
