Where can I wear this dress?

Just bought myself this dress for my 50th birthday as DH has organised a big family party.

But my question is... where else would you wear it? Is it too fancy for drinks out? Not sure what other events it's pitched for if that makes sense?

(So nice I don't want it just stuck in the wardrobe!)

Formal night on a cruise
Maybe a NYE party or a Christmas dinner and dance
To a wedding
Someone else’s party
Posh meal out at a restaurant or hotel.
Its a lovely dress.

I think you could style it in different ways to get more use out of it. With strappy heels like in the photo I’d feel a bit overdressed for dinner or drinks but it depends on the kind of places you go to. But I think it could definitely be dressed down with a more casual jacket and different footwear and be worn outside of special occasions.
