Dyeing/rep roofing a Burberry trench coat

I recently bought a Burberry trench coat on Vinted (for £40 -bargain!). It’s red 100% cotton and it good condition but the red is a bit faded. Would it be a terrible idea to dye it red? I’ve seen Burberry do a reproofing service, but it’s probably about 10 years old, im not sure if they would do it (and slightly worried they would be snobby about it).

has anyone tried dying one, or should I bite the bullet and take it to Burberry? (Any idea on the cost too?)

Wow, what a find! I’d say enquire with Burberry and see how much it’d cost. It would be a risk DIYing it. Im sure there might be other companies out there doing similar if you had a google.

It being 10 years old should not be a problem - the trenchcoats are meant to last a lifetime.
Contact them and ask for advice regarding colour restoration and re-proofing.

thanks for your replying, I your all right, my first port of call should be Burberry, and I’ve messaged them to ask about their service, even if it costs £££s, is still a bargain. I will update you with the before and after pics!

Good luck @TimetohittheroadJack and yes still a bargain given what you paid for it! Hope it’s not too expensive.
