70's fashion

Going to a 70's party next month.
I was born at the end of the 70's so cannot remember the fashion and I would have been in nappies and baby gros anyway!
Anyone who remembers the 70's, can you tell me what people were wearing?
I've seen some cute floral mini dresses with matching headbands but have been told they were more 60's.
All ideas gratefully received!

Thanks everyone for your help so far!
So the floral/swirl mini dresses I've seen with matching hairbands, when I googled 70's dresses, aren't really accurate then?

These are right for the very early years of the 1970s esp the white knee boots and teamed with hot pants. Then there was the move to more of a hippy element and maxis dresses followed by dresses with fake pinafore look and huge collars Mid 1970s there was then the move to the disco glam look - sequinned boob tubes and the satin trousers like Sandy In Grease. Take your pick. I wore them all. I loved the 70s!

I remember gypsy skirts. Mine was similar to this but had more fullness in the skirt and more broderie anglaise edging . I even had a broderie anglaise underskirt. Lots of people wore them with matching head scarves and off the shoulder lacy tops.

OMG... I had that exact gypsy skirt!! I teamed it with an off the shoulder broderie anglaise top too.
