Question for hair stylists / colourists - demi-permanent dye

I've been dying my roots which have a few flecks of grey, using semi permanent nice and easy. It doesn't fully cover grey hairs but blends them nicely. My natural hair is 95% dark brown with 5% greys. The mid and ends of my hair have ombré / balayage highlights.

I want to refresh the highlights as they are grown quite low down now. It would mean highlighting over the some of the section I've been using semi-perm dye on. According to my hair stylist that's fine as I've not used permanent dye. However, unfortunately I inadvertently used "Demi-permanent" nice and easy last week. (Picked up the box by accident as it looked the same). I'm not sure what "demi" means. Will it mean I can't highlight over the hair now?

Thank you

It should be fine OP. I'm not a colourist but I think demi just uses a slightly stronger developer than semi but it's not as strong as permanent. I can't see any reason why you couldn't dye over it.

Bumping this thread as looking for the exact same answer as the OP. Anyone?
