Where in Cardiff can I find a posh frock?

I'm heading into Cardiff city centre this week in the hope of finding a dress for a black tie event in September. I don't have a huge budget, around £200 maximum. Can anyone recommend some shops on the highstreet I can try?

It's less good for posh wear in the 'diffe these days, but in St David's there is Ted Baker and Hobbs, and I think also Phase Eight.
John Lewis has an occasionwear section.

I believe a new Mint Velvet has also opened in The Hayes, off st Mary's street.

There's a REISS. May cost more than £200 though ...

If you can make it out to Cowbridge (12 miles away) there are boutique shops and posh charity shops.

I was going to suggest John Lewis it's worth looking in TK Maxx too.
