Quality baby clothes brands?

I'm starting to think about buying baby clothes and want to keep an eye out on vinted for secondhand bargains. What brands would you suggest are good quality? I've not had a chance to check out any of the brands in the shops so don't know what they're really like e.g. kit and kin, little kids, JoJo maman bebe, Fatface, White Company, frugi etc. Which ones are quality and which ones just have a logo on something rubbish?

How do the big chains like John Lewis, M&S, Next etc compare in terms of quality?

Is it worth buying supermarket basics secondhand? Just not sure it'll be worth the postage. Thanks!

My favourite was always Ted baker but it's not as good now it's with Next and has got even pricier. Quality can now be a bit and miss bit generally good.

My other favourite was Joules so cute and great quality. Monsoon is great quality as well, Next too.

To be honest though some of the supermarket stuff is very good.

Buy middle of the road brands like next or M&S and buy on the condition. There is very little value to be found in designer baby clothes (or any designer clothes for that matter imo)

Please do not become label obsessed when dressing your child. That is seriously cringe.

Some really good tips here - thank you! And good point about different brands being different fits, sounds like it's worth me getting a few different brands and not too many months ahead so we don't get too tall/short before we know the baby. I love spotting good bargains on vinted so now just need to decide what's an appropriate quantity of baby grows/sleep suits..! Need to get listing some of my too-small clothes to fund it. Thanks again

I bought a lot of new kids' clothes on eBay. In my experience, the best deals can be found on fancier outfits and premium brands that are often received as a gift and then kept for the best - except kids grow so quickly that if you miss the season or forget about some items and discover them a few months later they don't fit anymore. The more democratically priced brands / everyday baby grows, tops and leggings will have typically seen heavier use and ultimately do not represent a massive saving compared to buying new, imho.

I like French brands like Jacadi, Catimini and Petit Bateau (good for slim kids but need to size up), and Scandinavian such as Polarn o piret, Oililiy (fabulous quirky prints but a bit baggy). Check big online retailers (Alex and Alexa, childrensalon) to get an idea of different brands and then look for them on eBay.

Good quality:
Next
M&S
Some H&M (this is nice and cheap too)
Weirdly some primark stuff!
Mori sleepsuits are the softest things ever
Mothercare from boots for outfits.

I'd get on ebay. There are often bundles of things really cheap.
