Can you dye your hair again with the same colour if it has come out patchy?

I dyed my hair from blonde to dark with a home dye and at the roots, the colour is what I wanted. However it is quite patchy here and there as I have long thick hair and it is a definite shade of khaki grey in places 😐

How long should I wait before dyeing it again? Could I leave it a week and dye it again using the same hair dye? I will go to the hairdressers if I have to but tbh the last time I had it dyed there, it also went a bit grey and I hated it and paid a lot of money for the privilege.

If anyone has done the same, what did you do and did it work?!

I’ve dyed my hair dark to light and hated it so went back to dark within an hour! Depends on your hair type you just need to be careful of allergic reactions so maybe do a strand test (admittedly I’ve never done this and have been fine)

Did you? That’s drastic!

I’ve done two dyes in the past to even out patchiness and it’s come out fine.

I used two boxes in two days a few weeks ago as I missed a couple of spots.

I've also thrown dark brown over blonde within a few hours as per PP because it was such a botch job.

My hair has always survived.

Oh I feel better now.

They do say to use 2 or more boxes for long hair, so yes it’s fine. I’ve also done ‘a dye a day’ for about a week once when trying to go pillar box red and all was fine. Do it again, section it next time!!

You can dye it again, it will be fine, however the reason it’s gone a khaki colour is because you’ve used a brown colour straight on top of blonde, you needed some red/warmth colour in there first. You could get the same colour or what would be better is if they do one with a warmer tone to eliminate any khaki tones. HTH

Yes I could try that thanks if it will help the green tinge.
