Nice but sturdy handbag for MacBook Air

I’ve promised my niece a bag for getting into 6th form. She’s worked hard all summer and bought herself a MacBook Air which I understand is small and light. She said she wants a handbag not rucksack as that’s they all take to college apparently.
Obviously it needs to be quite big yet sturdy as there will be folders and stationary as well to fit in. Any suggestions? My budget is about £80 but would stretch a bit for the perfect bag.

thanks.

This is on sale at the moment knomo.com/products/amsterdam-14-inch-laptop-tote-black-129-201-blk

It is £££, but an excellent brand. It should be OK if her MacBook is 13.6''

Or this, in a messenger style? www.uk.rains.com/collections/bags-accessories/products/laptop-bag-13?variant=39592046919763

Would it be worth checking with her to see if there’s a brand she likes? Or a style she’s after?

I personally just got this one and as DM is a popular brand with teens that might work. But I’d check with her - I’m not sure whether the Knomo one PP posted might be a bit more of an adult bag rather than a teen bag.

I have a teen DD who has just finished sixth form college. She and all her friends used cloth tote bags to cart their stuff to college. Not a messenger bag or rucksack, which would be far more practical but social death apparently. Teenagers are so specific about what is "cool/uncool" that I would ask your niece to show you exactly what type of bag she'd like.
