Skincare for my 12 yo dd

First of all sorry! This has probably been done to death and this is probably the completely wrong place (first post!). I have a couple of questions about skincare for my 12 year old dd.

  1. should she even start skincare?

  2. she has quite a lot of acne. Not enough to warrant a dermatologist but quite a lot and her skins quite oily. What would be best for this?

  3. what brands would you recommend?

  4. what products does she need?

up until now she’s just splashed some water on her face but now I am thinking that she needs a bit of structure.

thank you!!

CeraVe cleanser I get this on Amazon and it’s fantastic for oily skin

but the spots could be hormonal but a good face wash might help

My daughter is older but has very problematic skin and reacts to loads and she uses the La Roche Posay range and is fine with that .

My son and daughter use Cerave.

If your dd wears makeup/sunblock then it's really important to wash it off properly.

My son started getting a little sporty at the same age, but it was very difficult to get him to wash his face until I found nip and fab teen fix face wash, which comes in a pump dispenser so we keep it in the shower - the easier to use the better! It has definitely improved his skin, and now he can see the improvement he also uses their spot fix face pads for when he has a breakout.

DD12 uses a Cerave face wash and then a moisturiser. She has some spots around her nose but her skin is dry and this is working well for her.

DD17 uses La Roche Posay, if you are near an Aldi their hot cloth cleanser is a good shout too.

Thank you all, I think I’ll get her some bits from la Roche posay, nip and fab and cerave so she can find out what’s best for her! X

I’d get her to the dr for a topical acne product, acne scars.
