What would be a good haircut for hybrid hair?!

My hair is oddly quite straight with a bit of a wave at the front and sides but is really quite curly, dare I say frizzy, at the back.
At the mo it is all one length in a bob ending just below my ears, which looks ok at the front but funny at the back - its just too curly for this style.
Anyone have any ideas on what might look best or would tame the curl?
Have worn it long and one length for ages but it makes me a look a bit old/tired/drawn (am 37).
Have quite a defined jaw and wide/high cheekbones if that helps?

Would you use straighteners on your hair, I have weird hair too and i've never looked better or more sleek since investing in some ghd's.

I'd love to use GHDs, but I dont have the time (DSs are 3 and 8 months). Also not sure I have the patience.
My hairdresser is v experienced but cant seem to make my hair look good so am bit .
Did wonder if I should get it cut v short/sleek like that M&S model Erin's style...
