Please tell me what’s wrong with my legs!

Pic attached - I have ordered a pair of ‘slim fit mom jeans’.
They look lovely on other people, but not on me.
WTF is wrong with my knees that make jeans look like this on me?
I do have big calves, can that be it? What type of jeans would fit me then?

Please tell me what’s wrong with my legs!

They're too long. Try rolling up at the ankles and see if that makes them hang a little better.

KittyWindbag · 08/08/2022 10:45

Agree you need a rolled ankle, and possible something slightly wider leg.

dontgobaconmyheart · 08/08/2022 10:46

How tall are you? I don't think it's necessarily the cut OP, they just look like the leg length on that pair is too long. Most of my slim mom jeans sit above the ankle and so there isn't the excess fabric around the knee.

I don't think it looks like you have large calves at all.

Danielle2500 · 08/08/2022 10:58

Do you think this length would be better? still looks roomy by the knees though :(

Think a slim flare would be better

Greatfyl · 08/08/2022 11:46

I think it’s the cut. If you have thighs then slim/skinny jeans are pretty much all going to do that. She’s a bigger body shape than you but see the model photo?

How about a wider straight leg or slightly tapered leg? (Bonus that they’re also more fashionable although I’m a big believer in wear what you want to wear.) Like these?

Greatfyl · 08/08/2022 11:47

(^ To be clear the photo is not what I was suggesting you try, but an example of the knee thing happening with slim/skinny jeans on thighs.)

SquareButt · 08/08/2022 17:00

I think you need to size up and go for a mid rise instead of high rise (it looks hiked up). It's also too long and light blue jeans make legs look chunkier than dark.

3luckystars · 08/08/2022 17:03

They look much better rolled up alright, but really I would try all shapes and styles and brands until you find a better fit for you.

how tall are you?

Gherkingreen · 08/08/2022 17:04

Have you tried boyfriend jeans, rolled up? Straighter and slightly wider in the leg, really flattering and wearable all year round. M&S do a decent pair in different lengths and colours.
I prefer them on me as am tall (5ft11) with any weight carried on thighs, they balance me out and are flattering

3luckystars · 08/08/2022 17:05

The knees do look very baggy. Keep looking! All the best.

HundredMilesAnHour · 08/08/2022 17:07

That cut doesn't work for your legs. You'd be better going for a wider cut if you want mom jeans, or just embracing slim flt if you don't. You seem to have the worst of both with those jeans which just makes them look badly fitting (as well as being too long).

Numbat2022 · 08/08/2022 17:14

Mom jeans do this on me too, I think it's because I have relatively slim legs for my size so there's just too much fabric around the knee.

I tend to wear jeans that are fitted through the thigh and knee - baggy styles just don't work. I do have one pair of 'girlfriend' jeans but they're huge all over with holey knees and I wear them as roll-ups... and to be honest, I don't think they're very flattering, they're just comfy.

FrancescaContini · 09/08/2022 08:34

Your legs are fine but the jeans don’t suit you, that’s all.

jeaux90 · 09/08/2022 10:10

Wrong cut for you. Nothing wrong with your legs. Go somewhere like Next or M&S and try a load on if you aren't sure which style works.

Danielle2500 · 09/08/2022 10:20

Thanks for the suggestions, will keep looking :)
I am really short (5 ft) and this pair was from a petite range.

I'm 5 foot and look like you in jeans and that's fine .. I'm a super curvy size 10 and that isn't going to change ..

Honestly I doubt anyone would notice .. I get told I look lovely a lot and have been told when wearing similar jeans so it can't be that bad ..

Just wear. The jeans. !
