Honest opinion on these wide leg trousers?

I’m trying to find some eveningy trousers. Do these look ok? I normally wear skinny jeans and loose tops so this looks really odd to me. They are wide all the way down but seem to taper in on the photos.

They look like the suit trousers if a 70 year old bloke. The shape is neither here nor there.

I wouldn't call them wide legged but they are nice, smart, work style trousers.

While they're not awful, I think you could do better.

I also think you could do better op. You have a lovely figure and these aren't flattering it.

Oh dear. I think you’re all right. I need some that have a waistband to hold me in but everything in the shops seems to be elasticated which doesn’t really work on me.

I think you need properly straight wide legged trousers. Snug fitting round waist and bum and then dropping straight down.

I can't wear wide leg trousers - they just don't sujuit my shape. It's annoying.

The idea is good but those particular trousers aren't good. You'll find a better pair.

They don't look wide leg (as I would know it) to me. Wide leg to me are WIDE!

Anyway, whether they are in vogue or not, you cannot beat tapered end trousers for a neat dressy up appearance sometimes.

If you buy proper wide leg trousers they will look great too, but what you have on are not wide leg. Try on some palazzo style and see what you think.

You need a proper full wide leg, not tapered. And a nicer fitted top to go with them and some heels. Unfortunately these don't flatter your figure. Your figure is very much like mine and I can only wear these types of trousers if they're rolled up to above the ankle and as a casual ensemble with trainers. I could never get away with them for evening wear.

These are very wide leg trousers! I have a pair that I love, and that get loads of compliments. Size down though, as they fit big

I'd keep looking. They're not bringing much to the table. I'd have a look in he likes of Zara and Mango. Wide leg trousers work best IMO when they're in a thicker non crease fabric, have some tailoring and structure at the top and then a proper wide leg.

I think the waist needs to be higher and the wide leg wider.

You have a lovely figure and those don't do them justice.

Stick with the shape that suits you. I think wide leg trousers are hard to wear and those are doing nothing for your figure.

What about black slim fitting cigarette trousers? Ankle grazing with heels looks great for evening. These are from M and S online and have a bit of stretch to them.

I'd call them tapered leg rather than wide leg.

I wear trousers like this for work but with heels to make them more dressy but they don't say "evening" to me

I love a wide legged trouser, but am not sure these are wide enough. Also I'm not sure the length is right - they either need to be properly long , more over the shoe; or clearly 7/8ths.

these are styled horribly here but are great IRL and come in three lengths so you can get the perfect fit.

If you can afford the hit to your credit card try and order a few pairs and try them on to see what works and what doesn't

I like the cigarette style but I’ve always worn slim ankle length or 7/8 trousers for work so they don’t seem eveningy to me. I love the drawstring wide leg trousers but I need a structured waist. Elasticated looks terrible on me.

If you want to pull off wide legged trousers, go for something like these Lipsy trousers; high waisted and covering your shoes. I think heels and a slim fitting top tucked in are essential with your height. That look is all about accentuating your waist and making your legs look longer.

Alternatively try a structured jumpsuit like this one from Next?
