Evening out - what to wear

We’re going out for a meal at a popular restaurant to celebrate a special anniversary next week. I was going to go shopping but caught covid. Not sure what I’m looking for. Nothing that looks like I would wear it to work or a wedding. I’m late 40s but look a bit younger, 5’6”, size 12, apple shaped, decent legs, small boobs. Budget £100-£150. Looking for inspiration!

How about this with something you already have?

But it might be useful to know whether the ‘popular restaurant’ is McDonalds or a branch of the Ivy …

More like the Ivy only independent. Booked the table a few months ago sort of place.

That’s lovely, thank you. I do tend to gravitate to black or bottle green. I’ve never worn that sort of style before but it is something I’d consider. Would need to try it on (paranoid about my armpits - they’ve always looked chubby even when I was young & a size 10).

How about a black velvet jumpsuit? Or were you thinking a dress?

Oh wow! I love that! Have always loved velvet. I think you’ve found the answer! Thank you!
