Quick couple of questions if you aren't all out doing glamorous things?

I am starting to look quite knackered and a bit older than I really am - 36 btw. Mainly due to my gorgeous dd2 who is quite lively in the night (she is 5 mths) - don't worry I've not come on to this topic for help with that!

I currently use Boots No7 mousse foundation and matching pressed powder. I am thinking of upgrading my foundation/base, and will check out other more recent threads for advice on this. Will I need to get the matching powder as well, is it a false economy not to?

Also what can I use to make me look marginally more awake and brighter complexioned? Beauty flash balm? I am quite pale skinned so always look a bit flushed with any type of bronzer or blusher.

All ideas most welcome.

Try some Johnsons Holiday skin to give your pasty face a little glow. It works for me!

onepieceoflollipop · 19/01/2008 20:32

Thanks MinkVelvet, I checked the Clinique website and found:

Gentle Light Makeup and it has a matching Gentle Light Powder. (wish I knew how to do links!)

"restores a healthy rested appearance to skin" according to the website! Sounds like what I need.

Thanks Maidamess but I did that before and even the one for pale skins made me go a bit orange. You reminded me though I have a more subtle one I think from the Champneys range that I could try.

What happens on the other 2 days - doesn't it wash/clean off after one day?

a good nights sleep.
you cant beat that.

onepieceoflollipop · 19/01/2008 20:44

Cod and/or MinkVelvet - thanks for suggestions.

I typed "luminating" into search on Clinique websit and it came up with the gentle light make up? - sounds like a cross between a light foundation/tinted moisturiser. Is this what you mean?

pukkapatch I will drop dd2 round to you for babysitting as I won't get a good night's sleep while she is in the house!

oo, ilove other peoples babies, precisely because i can hand them right back when they cry.

iamdingdong · 19/01/2008 20:54

I use lancome color ideal which is nice and light also matt, no need for powder, but I use benefit dandelion for a bit of a glow (and beauty flash on a bad day )

I think MinkVelvet means the uplighting stuff (but I might be wrong)

JackieNo · 19/01/2008 21:05

Ah - X-post with iCod.

onepieceoflollipop · 19/01/2008 21:05

Thanks Cod that looks just the type of thing I need. Will maybe restrict powder to greasy areas only (can't go without entirely over t zone)
