Mint Velvet dress - boots?

I love this Mint Velvet dress (along with many other items of theirs that I’m coveting!) I really like it with the creamy white boots in the picture but I would be buying it to wear in the autumn plus I’m not very confident with bare legs at the best of times. I love wearing dresses with opaque black tights but feel like that wouldn’t work here? Or could it? I’m clueless! What would you recommend?

My very slim beautiful dd ordered a pair of those boots. She could look good in a bin bag but they made her look like she was due a shift in an abattoir. They are seriously unflattering.

Nice dress though. A good one for transitioning between seasons. I think that could work with tights and any other ankle boot in the autumn and a maxi cardigan in the colder weather.

I would wear it with black tights and boots. It’s lovely.

Thanks both of you! I won’t be able to forget the ‘abattoir chic’ image - not one I’m striving for! 😂 I was never a fan of those white boots in real life but maybe the lovely model swayed me… I think I will stick to black boots and my trusty black tights!!!
