Holiday grooming for a novice

I'm normally a fairly low maintenance person but this year when I go on holiday, I want to go feeling good about myself.

I'm thinking of booking in for a bikini wax, leg wax & a spray tan... but do I get these done on the same appointment? How long will the tan last? I fly on a Monday, so would have to be sprayed the Saturday before - will it all disappear the first time I get in the pool?! And when it does come off, will it be all patchy and odd-looking?

I've also upped my running and workouts and trying to eat a little healthier to get rid of bloat.

I've ordered loads of new bikinis & swimsuits to try on at home & find some that I feel confident in.

What else can I do? What's part of your holiday prep routines?

I do most things at home myself so I have more money to spend on cocktails 😂

I do usually have a hairdresser appointment for cut and blow dry and root touch up within two weeks before I leave.

I have a laser hair removal gadget so I’m already in a routine of doing that once a week to keep legs, pits and bikini line at bay.

I do a nice gel polish on toes that stays unchipped for the duration.

I do a self tanner crème the night before I leave but also take a bottle and mitt with me to top up.

Basically, it will come off when the top layer of skin comes off. So for example if you burn in the sun then peel, you’ll get lots of patches where the skin has peeled off. Likewise if you rub your skin to dry when wet, or use an exfoliator, that will remove the stained/tanned layer of skin so that’s how the patches happen.

Oh, that's good to know with the patchiness!

Thanks. Hair is all good, recently had that done and nails I always do myself.
