When you go back for infills do they trim them? Or do they just get longer each month till you soak them off and start again?

They usually file the ends to the chosen length then infill

Usually takes about 45 minutes from start to finish. They clip mine and then file them as I like mine short.

These are mine when I had them filled about 10 days ago.

Out of interest if you like them short why do you go for acrylic nails?

I always get mine filed down a bit. I don’t like them too long.

Because I'm a lifelong biter. They're really weak (even before the acrylics) so on the rare occasion I'd manage to not bite and grow them a little bit longer, they'd bend and not so much snap as sort of rip at the top. Which would leave a jagged edge that I would inevitably bite...

Short acrylics are a way for me to have nice nails as my real ones aren't up to task.

I usually have the tips quite short the first time I have them done & then let them get a bit longer as my natural naile grow. I have a tiny bit of the tip filed off every time I have an infill until the whole thing is my natural nail.

These are mine, I always file them down at every visit as I need them short. As previous PP i dont use acrylics for the length but for the overall appearance of the nailz.

Can I leap on and ask a question too? Another lifelong buyer here and I just had short acrylics done for the first time a couple of days ago with a gel colour on top. If you go to get infills, how does that work with the colour? Can they take the gel colour off without taking the acrylics off or do you have to have the whole lot removed and start again?

unicornsarereal72 · 02/08/2022 07:18

@Akite they take the colour and small layer of acrylic off with the drill file then fill in the bottom and build up for new layer/colour.
