i had great big huge wobbly bits... or rather i was one great huge wobbly bit, so i didnt really bother too much about any one wobbly bit in particular.
now i am a size ten, and very fit. my legs are very nice right now, or at least as nice as previously thunder thighs and fat calves can become with loads and loads of excercise, which is actually very nice indeed. [no modesty there then, but hey, i have worked very hard on them, and the rest f me.
so why the do i still have this great big huge wobbling mass of jelly in front of my body. you know, the post three children belly. the one that will not lie still. the one that is cut into bits by the knickers elastic, and the jeans elastic, and if i wear a skirt, by the tights elastic. or the leggings elastic, and looks gawdawful. it only looks ok if i wear those control underwear up to my bra strap. then i get a decent lineto my clothes. but i can wear that day in day out can i ? or is this on a par with full makeup every day, which i shoul dbe wearing now im 35?
what d o i do?

Have you tried the plank? That is what finally shed my post baby belly.

pukkapatch · 19/01/2008 09:52

yup. do it religiously as part of my floor excercises when at the gym, whichon a bad week, is three times a week. i do one rep of a count of sixty, which shoudl be 30 seconds, and two or three more coutns of twenty. then i do sits ups, then the leg lowering to the floor, whichis good for lower abs, then half hourish cardio, then half hourish weights. usually there for abt least an hour and a half..
but will try doing 5 counts of sixty according to that link tomorrow. thank you for that.
its actually not so much the muscle tone, i think, its more the crap extra skin on top. and of course the fat, but when i lose more fat, i tend to lose it from everywhere else firts, including my breasts, so that the belly sticks out even more. .....

oh i have the losing it from breasts problem

and skinny unfatfilled breasts to me are actually worse than lose tummy skin as that is actually worse if you lean forward and if i am doing that i am just trying to get resigned to the fact that m,y tummy looks awful

ZZMum · 19/01/2008 10:05

speaking as someone thunderous of thigh, I would be interested to know how you got them under control .. what types of exercises did you do .. and for how long?

as for the stomach, my one and only tip is... eat less carbs... seems to work for me.. a few days of no bread and my stomach does flatten...

comeoveneer

thanks for directing to that site it is just what i need atm,,,,, for weight loss blog

pukkapatch · 19/01/2008 15:56

weight loss, coupled with lots and lots and lots of excercise. cardiovascular excercise, using your large muscle gropus, ie your legs. or to put it another way. i love cycling. in the summer, i go out on my bike. a lot. i use it as a means of transport.
in the winter, and summer, i also do spinning classes at the gym. very hard workout, but worth it.really tones them all up.
thinks like walking up hill ona treadmill are also good. treaclimber, a new machine at my gym is also good. the cross trainer, lots of people swear by7 running, but i cant run to save my life.
if you decide to cycle for this reason, try and build up to cycling five or seven miles away, adn back. excellent excercise.

oh the belly

It's so frustrating

I think my top half looks better when I am a bit overweight

But then I have enormothighs

But when I lose the weight the belly looks like it's been grafted on from a 90 year-old famine victim

It's so hard to be motivied to stay in shape when you know that whole skin thing looks RUBBISH

pukkapatch · 19/01/2008 16:08

exactly!
i have just stopped my renewed diet, as the weight loss was causing my stomach to protrude out even further, and look even more nauseating. i might as well have some boobs and bum, rather than just be a frame for the belly to be stuck to.
the plank shall be upped i n th epriority list of things to do at the gym..

It's depressing knowing that whatever I do, I have now reached the stage of my life where I will always look better With Clothes On

thaliablogs · 27/01/2008 09:13

I haven't tried it but people swear by www.t-tapp.com/home/. It all looks a bit odd, but has some passionate devotees like moxie of ask moxie www.askmoxie.org/ who is pretty sensible so might be worth a try.

I also bought a book called 'lose thst mummy tummy' from amazon, might be worth a try. Again `I haven't used it. I am bad.
