Spray tan before holiday - how many days in advance to do it?

I am going to book a spray tan for before my hols (usually I just do my fake tan at home). Am I best to do it the evening before I travel (so probably the tan still developing and stinking while I travel) or two days before (but one less day of well-done fake tan during my hols) - what is the mn stylish opinion on the optimum approach to spray tans?

I got one a couple of weeks ago, in advance of my holiday. I did it two (or three! Depending on how you calculate!) days before ie Wed lunchtime for Sat am departure. I think Thursday eve would have been better.

By early the following week it was mostly gone but I felt good for the first few days & then didn't really mind!
