It's super thick, highlighted and really looking like crap now. It's only shoulder length I should be able to manage it.

It needs to be straightened or I look like I've been electrocuted. I takes ages and ages to dry - as in not wet, before any styling is possible.

I'm using olaplex (irritates my scalp) though does seem to help hair a little, ultimate blends mask, feels awful of I don't use it. Also got2b Oilicious - used to be amazing now seems to have opposite effect on my hair, argon oil spray is probably the most effective.

I've just bought John Frieda 3 days straight but not used it.

I need all the hair advice please I look like crap all the time!!

It’s not budget at all, but I find Kerastase way better than most. I don’t use shop brands now, they don’t come close. Olaplex is fine but the shampoo etc is a diluted variation of the original product and a waste

Have you tried the curly girl method? (I think that's what it's called)

DD2 has witch's hair and now has beautiful ringlets 🤷🏻‍♀️ I just didn't know how to take care of it.

I don't do everything exactly like the method because I'm learning, I don't want to take tooooo much time and she's little. So after shampoo I put a lot of conditioner and detangle the hair. After the shower and towel drying her hair a little, I put curl spray (from Noughty, don't know if it's the best product 🤷🏻‍♀️) and crunch up the hair.

Maybe worth a try. Looks like a lot of people just assume they have straight hair or hair that has to be straight.

I use straightners to do loose waves in mine rather than straightening it… I find it much quicker and more forgiving and it’s fine for a couple of days.
When I used to straighten my hair it looked rubbish really quickly, the ends used to go flicky. With loosely waved hair, it doesn’t matter.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 28/07/2022 20:02

I use the kerastase gold elixir. One pump on the ends.

this one it’ll be on offer somewhere but still not cheap. But bottle lasts me a year

AmbushedByCake1 · 28/07/2022 20:27

If you have the budget go to a salon and have a Kerastraight treatment. Game changer. I pay £140 twice a year. Transformed my bonkers thick wavy, unbrushable hair.

L’Oreal 8 second wonder water is about £5 a bottle and insanely effective on my hair- worth a go before you spend big bucks?
