Masked Ball - so, what do I have to wear?!

The school ball this year is a Masked Ball.

So, what do I wear?

Can I wear a cocktail dress as normal - I am assuming yes! A least I hope so as I bought a new one earlier this week int he sales.

But the whole masked bit - can anyone help?!

TIA

Everyone has to wear a mask - men and women!

I would assume it would be long rather than cocktail dresses, but worth checking with organisers.

Monsoon sometimes have some v nice feathered masks; quite Venetian in style. I second the belief that long dresses are probably the way to go for ladies.

Long dress? Argh! All my current dresses for the most recent balls have been shorter cocktail dresses. Not sure I have any long ones that fit. Hmmm!

That website has some nice ones. Ball isn't till March so got a little while to look. Thanks for all ideas.

Not sure I'll get Dh in any of them bar a very basic plain black one TBH.

I think I prefer one on a stick, rather than one that has a strap. Just tinking of mess of my hair otherwise.

some of those are lovely- I keep thinking of a reason why I can throw a party and insist everyone wears masks. Some are so inticate and beautiful.

Hulababy · 19/01/2008 14:35

Right had gone through the wardrobe. I have one long dress - a simple straight long black dress with string type straps, a bit low cut but not too much. I will have to try it on tomorrow but it should still fit.

So black gives me free rein with the mask I guess...

What other accessories do you reckon?

long gloves

janeite · 19/01/2008 15:42

Ooh a long black dress, long gloves, a mask on a stick and a choker or statement necklace would be fab. I'm sooooooo jealous!

Hulababy · 21/01/2008 08:43

Right I have a straight long black dress - and it does fit; just need to keep up the dieting so my tummy looks flatter in it I already have black sandals, or gold ones.

So I now need:

  • long gloves
  • mask (I want one on a stick preferably too)
  • jewellry - ill have to be dress stuff and nothing to dear

I have a ball the night before too but will wear the black cocktail dress I bought last week for that. I have some simple dress jewellry for that already too.
