FARKIN BODEN RAINYDAY MAC!!!!!!!!

Grrrghhh,,
I should have listened to MN.

I ordered my rainyday mac and it came yesterday.

I wore it yesterday and wrote a review about it on here.

Today on the school run, I bent down to get something from under the buggy and 'ping', the bottom button pings off.

I was going to fix it but dh told me to ring and complain.

So I did and I told the lady all about Mumsnet and how everyone moaned about the buttons. I did say that a lot of people were happy with it apart from that. The lady said that there had been a few complaints about them and thats why the new one has a zip.

Anyway she's sending me a free returns label to send it back and put £10 credit on my account as 'compensation'.
I then ordered the new zip one under duress(sp)

Its not got a fleece lining so wont be as warm but will not break I suppose.
She's also sending it on next day delivery, free of charge. So they should.

I bet Jonny made the sale batch with crap buttons, so people would send them back and order the more expensive zip ones.

Rant over.

I paid full price for mine and the buttons still pinged off so not a boden conspiracy .

princessmel · 18/01/2008 16:37

Did you complain??

Its annoying as it is great apart from that. And the price.

No - I didn't but should have done. I got my mum to resew the buttons on (I can't sew to save my life - even buttons ).

ScoobyDoo · 18/01/2008 16:41

Do you have a link to this mac?

Good you got some compensation they obviously have a fault.

princessmel · 18/01/2008 16:42

Have they stayed on better now they've been re-attached??

That's the Rainyday jacket I am hankering over.

They were out of stock yesterday, now in stock again. Can't help but wonder why.

princessmel · 18/01/2008 16:44

Oh done first link twice www.boden.co.uk/col.asp?styid=WE188&segname=Women&segid=6&gpname=Coats+%26+Jackets&desname=Rainyday+ Jacket&gpid=11&gen=1&col=LBR

Which was out of stock? The sale or non sale one??

OP posts:
ScoobyDoo · 18/01/2008 16:47

hmm i only like the 1st one you linked to don't like the pattern on the zip one.

Wuxiapian · 18/01/2008 16:48

The sale one, princess.

How do you like your new one, anyway?

RosaLuxOnTheBrightSideOfLife · 18/01/2008 16:50

It is not just the sale ones that have buttonitis. My non-sale one is shedding buttons faster than Dita Von Teese.

princessmel · 18/01/2008 16:53

Thats odd wuxiapian. I wonder why.
Its not arrived yet. I only complained just now.

I liked the sale one too scooby. I do like the non sale pattern but I'll have to see if I like it as much when it arrives.

Its crap isn't it Rosa?

Zazette · 18/01/2008 17:05

sale stuff goes in and out of stock as people return things

wheelybug · 18/01/2008 17:13

Yes the buttons are much better now they've been reattached.

princessmel · 18/01/2008 17:22

Thats good

OP posts:
Wuxiapian · 18/01/2008 17:39

Aside from poor button attachment, how'd it fit, princess?

I'm 5'5 and size 12. It looks quite long and I'm worried I'll like like a sack of shit in it.

princessmel · 18/01/2008 17:53

I'm 5"7 and a size 11

I ordered a 12 and it was a little bit roomy. Not too big though. Good length.

The new design is slimmer cut so I think that would be better for me.

Just thought I'd tell the evening crowd about my button-falling-off-complaining.

OP posts:
Wuxiapian · 18/01/2008 22:33

Princess, does (the returned mac) gape at the back at all or is it nicely inny/outy fitted style?

Really hope the new (and improved) mac pleases! Looking forward to the next review.

princessmel · 19/01/2008 08:43

Wasn't very inny/outy, more A line really. I'd prefer inny/outy or slimmer. The new one is supposed to be slimmer cut.
