How many times can you buy and return the same item?!

I’m on the hunt for a new pair of jeans 👖. I haven’t worn jeans since pre pandemic. Found a lovely pair on ASOS. They annoyingly do waist sizes 24,25,26 then jump to 28,30,32 etc. I am a size 27. I originally bought and returned the 28 waist as a shade too big (waist falling lower on hips, ruining the style). Bought the 26 waist - uncomfortably tight especially after a meal. Returned.

bought/ tried 27inch waist jeans from other shops and none of them fit quite so nicely (perhaps I am an odd shape - thick thighs, average-full bum, a bit of a tum but a narrow waist). Have gone a full circle and bought the original size 28 from ASOS.. I’m sure they’re baggier now! Can I return it again?!
I can’t help but feel if I try a couple of their 26 and 28 of the same style one of them might feel more like a 27 given how much the two 28s have varied…

Or would I get in trouble for buying and return essentially the same item multiple times?
these are hands down the best jeans I’ve found for my body shape on my fairly extensive search!

Go on the website and check the returns policy

Do you have a local alterations service near you that could adjust the waist to suit? It would be better than returning the jeans again especially if they suit you.

I've just bought a pair of denim shorts, was in-between sizes and went for the larger size and had them altered to fit better on the waist and bum so you could maybe try that?

polka6 · 26/07/2022 16:37

How much do alterations generally cost? @Singinghollybob

Sorry @polka6 I've only just seen ypur question. I paid £17 to have mine altered and they did a cracking job, you'd never know, I'm well pleased.

Can you not just wear a Belt?

If you're buying online then they have to allow returns - it's not optional. Of course, I suppose they could stop selling to you but I'm not sure they'd bother.

Shopping for jeans is one of my least favourite activities!
