White plimsoll style shoes in the office - acceptable?

I’m starting a new role in an office after a remote role for 6 years.

This means new clothes. I saw someone pair some plimsolls with office trousers on a blog piece the other day.

I don’t think my office is strict on corporate style wear. In fact I think I saw slipper style footwear on my interview on someone.

I was thinking of getting a pair or these:

what do you prefer and do you think they’ll work as office wear?

Our office is on the casual side but either one of those styles would be fine. As a preference I like the second one more.

I’m not really v stylish tbh but can confirm plimsolls with office wear is now a v mainstream look, even for senior people

much prefer the 1st with laces

Ever office is different op. You're best off wearing some smart shoes for the first couple of weeks while you check out what everyone else is wearing. I wouldn't be allowed to wear those to work.

My DIL had the prettiest ones on the other day.

I prefer the ones with the laces to be honest. They're perfectly acceptable to wear in an office.

I think open toed footwear is just screaming out "drop a file/folder/ring binder or something heavy on me!" during the summer months. Perfect for wearing outside the office environment but, for me, a no no.

Where were they from?

Thank you.

I’ve ordered.

The lace up ones.

I have the lace-up version of those trainers OP. I’ve worn them to the office this summer, but only with smart trousers and top. They look a bit too casual with a dress imo. I love them - they are comfy, but do make my feet feel a bit hot.

That's excellent advice. Our office has now (to my distress) largely gone casual and either would be fine, unless meeting clients, when absolutely not.

There are a small group of us holding out for still being smart. I would not wear either of those to the office
