snag shorts fit vs others?

I have a few pair of snag shorts to wear under dresses that I got last year. I didn't have a problems then, though I did find them kind of awkward/inconvenient to get up and down because of how stretchy they are - I found it took a lot of adjusting to get the gusset to sit high enough somehow, and sometimes the seams would end up a bit low - that, combined with the extra heat this year, means I'm still getting a bit of chapped and sore skin. I don't know if it's the size that I got (can't remember which, unfortunately!), or if that's just how this sort of thing fits because it has to be so stretchy.

Has anyone compared those to big bloomers chub rub shorts? They also look smooth and quite sheer. But they don't seem to come up as high at the waist, which might not be as good - like the Sloggi long pants, which I tried and which are good for not being too stretchy, but the seams at the bottom of those rubbed, as well as them not being that high on the waist.
Snag ones are at least quite cool. They have laddered a little but not right through like an actual hole, just where the fabric has laddered a bit.

I'll persist with snag if that's just how it is but if there are other good suggestions, I'm open to ordering something else...

I recently got these www.amazon.co.uk/wirarpa-Chafing-Underwear-Leggings-Multicoloured/dp/B09QW4RL4W?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1

They are pants material rather than tights but you don't wear separate pants. Very comfy even in last week's heat. Bonus no vpl at all!

I found snag came up massive. They are also a horrible material that made my skirts bunch/ride up.

I'd try a different brand.

Oh my goodness I have been searching for something like this for absolutely ages! Thank you so much for sharing! Love the fact that they are actual pants and also made of cotton. Off to order right now!

thanks, I'll look at those.

dragonfly, if you want pants material ones, you could try the sloggi long-line ones as well. I didn't find them quite long enough in the legs.

I think the fabric on all the shorts somehow gets a bit 'stuck' on my legs and then when I pull them up, it just stretches further rather than actually pulling the legs/gusset up.

So I don't know if my Snag ones are too big, or too small! I don't want the legs too much bigger though, as they then might not stay in place when I walk.

bigbloomers has some 'Lexi' ones that they say come up higher in the waist, which might be worth a shot. I do like them coming up quite high so that there is no obvious 'cutting in' at the waist.

I had a couple of pairs from Big Bloomers whoch are great; my sister likes Snag so i just boight a pair of those and have the same trouble as you. Plus they dont feel 'smooth' IYSWIM. So just got another couple of pairs from Big Bloomers whoch i think are twice the price now compared with say 3 yrs ago, but worth every penny still!

QuattroFromagio · 22/07/2022 09:39

thank you. maybe it's worth trying to order just one pair of those for comparison then, if they do actually fit differently. I didn't want to throw more money at something that was going to be pretty much the same. Do you know which of the big bloomers ones you ordered? They have several different styles/waist height/leg length etc. I'd like one that comes up nearly to my bra.
