Please help me find dress for funeral

I have a family funeral next week, and I’m currently over a stone heavier than usual, so dresses I would usually think of wearing don’t fit!

I’m currently a 14 - 16, buxom hour-glass figure although carrying a bit more weight around my middle than usual. Am short waisted so prefer dresses that fit and flare or skim over my waist, otherwise I am just all boobs and bum!

Ideally dress will be black, grey, or navy, longer length and with long or 3/4 length sleeves. Patterned or self-coloured.

Budget up to £50, but could go a bit higher.

Please help!

I'm sorry for your loss. Would a skirt and blouse/jacket combo work instead or a dress? I cant find any dark dresses that would suit at the moment other than work attire.

Thank you.

Yes, skirt and top suggestions would also be most welcome!

I’m sorry for your loss. Sleeves a little shorter than ideal, but how about this? I’ve found the cut of Finery’s stuff to be excellent (similar body shape to yours):

Would you wear again? And are temperatures set to drop?

A little higher than budget but I bought Hobbs Bexley and it's a very fine knitted dress. So flattering, it hangs beautifully.

I bought it there when sadly I had three funerals in a very short space of time

Sorry for your loss. It’s sometimes tricky finding dark clothes in the summer. I bought this dress from Cos for a funeral recently. It’s good quality and the A line to flattering (I’m similar to you size wise). It’s got ruching on one side at the waist which is flattering over the abdomen and you can adjust it. I wore it with a jacket I already had. The blue version is in the sale but not the black one sadly which is £79. It’s a lot more than you want to spend @Seeingadistance but it is very nice quality and would last. www.cos.com/en_gbp/women/womenswear/dresses/product.gathered-midi-dress-black.1084820001.html

10% of your first order at Cos so that helps a bit!

You’ve shown me some lovely dresses, and a couple of them are giving me motivation to lose this excess weight so I can invest in the more expensive dresses in the future!

For now, I got a dress from Per Una, and it has pockets!

Again, thanks for all your help and kind comments.
