How old is too old for dungarees?

That really. I love them but wonder if I'm too old to carry them off in my mid fifties?

OP posts:
LoudingVoice · 13/07/2022 22:28

If you like them wear them, I don’t agree with clothes having an age limit.

I got 2 pairs last week from L&Y and waiting for a pair that I got from Depop on Monday so I would say they suit ppl of all ages. I have never had a pair before but I love the look and how comfy they are

Jossfromtenko · 13/07/2022 22:39

6 is a year too old

Ruthietuthie · 13/07/2022 22:40

The number inside is the size label, not an age label 😉

OneCup · 13/07/2022 22:41

When you struggle to go to the loo !

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 13/07/2022 22:43

I love the polar opposites on here. Some say never and others say 5 😂😂

I'm 32 and love dungarees. My mum still wears them but more for practical reasons

Wbeezer · 13/07/2022 22:45

I'm mid fifties and still wear them and so does my well dressed 80 year old mother!

Fat2fin · 13/07/2022 22:46

I'm nearly 40 and have loads of dungarees.

I live in them

adhdforme · 13/07/2022 22:46
  1. They're dreadful
Fat2fin · 13/07/2022 22:48

These are my latest pair. Beetlejuice!

DramaAlpaca · 13/07/2022 22:52

Yes, 5. Sorry OP, each to their own and it's nothing to do with age, but I think they look dreadful. But if you like them, go for it.

PeekabooAtTheZoo · 13/07/2022 22:53

Never! I’m in my thirties and I think women in their sixties or seventies can still look fantastic. Dungarees to me imply that you’re active and creative. As others have said, stop when you can’t do the toilet in them anymore.

dolphinsarentcommon · 13/07/2022 22:58

Sorry but I'm going to say 'as soon as you're potty trained and can walk'

Marvellous for crawling babies. After that it's a no from me

fantasmasgoria1 · 13/07/2022 23:05

Dungarees look amazing on most people. You wear whatever you want at whatever age you want!

VintageVest · 13/07/2022 23:06

Don't let all these narrow minded opinions put you off OP.

You're never too old to look like a gargantuan toddler.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 14/07/2022 06:30

Never if you are an arty boho type.

InWalksBarberalla · 14/07/2022 06:33

Once out of nappies?

ShirleyJackson · 14/07/2022 06:33

Dead.

And having said that, I might be buried in mine, so…never.

dudsville · 14/07/2022 07:11

There are some who think they aren't for adults, so you need to work out where you stand yourself in that.

Personally, i have one pair in dark denim and they look great with a printed, collared blouse. I wouldn't feel comfortable in fun printed dungarees, and even the more casual versions, but my older friend looks very chic in her faded blue jean pair.

10 years.
