Non greasy SPF for face - does it exist?

Just that really; can anyone recommend a non greasy, lightweight SPF cream for the face?

Bonus points for cream suited for mid 30s, dry skin.

Biore Watery Essence is amazing, and a great base for makeup. I get it on Amazon

EternalPoinsettia · 13/07/2022 21:11

I use Cetaphil day cream, it is factor 50 and I don't find it greasy. A little goes a long way and run in well. Maybe ask for a tester?

La Roche Posay have more than one….there’s a really lightweight lotion and a thicker cream so 2 at least. How greasy a product is will be impacted by your skin type and also the climate so your experience of these products may be different to posters. I think the LRP are both good but Garnier do a spray which you use after makeup which allows you to top up your sunscreen as the day goes on. That’s actually more logical than a lotion if you’re actually going to be in the sun.

Paula's choice do a range for aging spot-prone skin which includes a light SPF 50 day moisturizer.

Eucerin factor 50 pigment control is great

Boxowine · 13/07/2022 21:27

I like to use a mineral powder foundation that is spf.

I use the Charlotte tilbury spf 50 primer - then top up during the day with the garnier spf 50 special face spray, it's amazing - non greasy and easy to use!

CT one is amazing. I love it

Ultrasun Face. It's really good sunscreen and it's unbelievably light and doesn't smell like sunscreen.

INeedNewShoes · 13/07/2022 23:07

Oh and I have very dry, sensitive skin (eczema) and it doesn't irritate my skin at all.

Other sunscreens (including Ultrasun's normal sunscreen) have left me with irritated skin around my eyes but the Ultrasun Face cream is brilliant.

Body shop do one that is non greasy and moisturising

EasterIssland · 13/07/2022 23:11

Ultra violet. They even do a lean version with less chemicals in it

BensonBunny · 13/07/2022 23:34

Another fan of Thank You Farmer. If you buy from Tonic 15 you can get a bundle with their solid stick as well as the cream, this is great for going in a bag for top ups when out and has a lovely matt finish.

Nivea Shine control spf 50 for face.

cheap and the best I’ve found.

Lordofmyflies · 14/07/2022 15:48

I use moisture matte from Alumier MD.
Its factor 40 but works by being a physical barrier rather than using chemicals. Its a white paste to begin with, but with gentle rubbing turns into a tinted base so I dont need foundation. V good - repeat purchase of this one every year!

steelseries · 14/07/2022 15:53

Another vote for Heliocare. It's always recommended by dermatologists. I do like the Alumier one someone else mentioned too.

Do they do different shades? I wish I could use tinted ones but they're always too dark for me

Biore Watery Essence is alcohol-based and brilliant.

AnchorWHAT · 14/07/2022 16:52

Garnier ambre solait do a factor 50 dry mist that you can spray on over make up, tis great.

HappySpade · 14/07/2022 23:02

I'm really enjoying Supergoop's Unseen Sunscreen this summer. It's only 30 SPF though but the product isn't white so no residue.

BookShark · 14/07/2022 23:21

We're all currently slathered in Clinique (on holiday on the South coast and outside all day) - not cheap, but much more like a moisturiser than a sun cream.

The freebie Dr Dennis Gross minis I had from a Space NK GWP have also gone down well.

I hate to say it, but our experience is that the more expensive, the more lightweight.

missmoon · 15/07/2022 07:22

Someone on here recommended Khiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense Aqua Gel SPF 50, to me and it’s brilliant. I’m on my fourth tube. It’s not cheap but lasts me 2-3 months of applying daily. Works well under makeup. I also use their daily moisturiser: www.kiehls.co.uk/skin-care/category/sun-care/ultra-light-daily-uv-defense-aqua-gel-spf-50-pa----/WW0081KIE.html

DeePlume · 16/07/2022 08:06

Avene spf 50 dry touch fluid is great. My skin is oily and this doesn't cause breakouts or make it more oily.
