Please can you suggest a nice dress to wear to the races? I’m looking for something summery, smart, not too weddingy?

Im size 12 but small on top so can’t do wrap dresses etc

Thank you!

Is there a dress code?

Look at the Duchess of Cambridge's recent polka dot dresses - races, Wimbledon etc.

I've been obsessing over white polka dot dresses for a work event later in the summer - see here some links from my research!

I don’t recommend suede shoes. I know it’s very dry at the moment but you may have to walk on grass and if the grass is wet it will spoil your shoes.
Also, I know there is a heatwave at the moment but if the weather changes then take a jacket or a shawl as racecourses are windy places and if you’re not warm enough then it spoils what you’re doing.

Don't know the make of the dress Helen Catt was wearing whilst reporting on BBC2 politics today, but it would be suitable. Perhaps contact her via SM.

I think this is lovely, but it's online only, sorry....

I love the Urban Outfitter dress. I also like the fact they've styled the dress with flat sandals. My local pub is opposite a race course and I love the race-goer spotting (although not them taking over the whole pub to tank up before heading over there). I like the idea of a floaty dress paired with flat sandals, or even Doc Martens. I feel for those who haven't even got to the race course and are already tottering about in high-heeled shoes. If it was me I'd pair the dress with a demin jacket to cover up if needed. People who look as if they've tried too hard for the occasion don't always look good. Most importantly, if you feel great in what you're wearing, you will! 😋.

Why have they ruined the Mango dress with that horrible cut away back.

The second dress linked is shapeless.

The third dress you linked is perfect.
