Hair removal cream recommendations please for DD

Hi, DD (14) is wanting to remove her underarm and leg hair. I’ve just shaved her underarms for her but she’s not confident about doing it herself again (or on her legs) so was thinking a hair removal cream might be easier for her? She’s got a bit of Keratosis Polaris on her legs so I’m worried she might nick these when shaving (she’s going to start using a body scrub and moisturiser regularly now to combat this). Waxing not an option as the moment as she she’s a bit scared of the pain.

my memories of using cream go back 30+ years to the stench of Immac (which never seemed to work properly on my strong Asian body hair!) so would love some recommendations please - I hope formulations are better and easier to use these days! Thanks

Maybe a lady shaver as those are very unlikely to cut.. only hair removal cream I've used is nair nothing compares to a shaver.

Veet Sensitive hair removal cream from the Pound Shop is what I use. Dissolves hair at the root so regrowth doesn't show for weeks.

I used Veet this week for the first time in 20 years and was pleased to find it was a much less strong smell than it used to be!

Easy and done in 6 minutes on my bikini line so fine for underarm and leg hair I would think but patch test first.

Thank you all - Veet seems to be the one to go for then.

hadn’t thought about electric shaver (have an epilator with shaving attachment so can give her that to try).

good point about patch test. I reena friend of mine had a chemical burn on her upper lip after leaving the immac on too long…

OP, the key issue with Veet etc is not only the spot test, but that it is very time critical.

Looking back to when I was 14 (thousands of years ago; I’m in my 40s now!!!), l kept my body hair free with an electric shaver with a spinning foil head. No risks of nicks, leaving cream on too long/not long enough and it was effective.

Thank you. I’ll dig out my foil one and see how she gets on with that. Might go and have a nosy around boots and see what other options there are and get a selection for her to try!
