Best budget mascara

I used to use a Benefit mascara (roller lash) but recently have been using a budget mascara, (revlon super lash) but I'm not that impressed as it's clumpy after only three uses, and after using a lash comb.

So before I buy another benefit mascara I wanted to check if anyone had any decent budget recommendations please.

Maybelline Sky High is fantastic. The only mascara that doesn't smudge on my lower lashes.

Maves · 10/07/2022 10:31

Second mabyline sky high! I'm using iconic at the min which is the best mascara I've ever used! But def mabyline and I have shit eyelashes.

esmeraId · 10/07/2022 10:49

Sorry, back to this late. Also to amend that I tried Rimmel, not revlon, super lash.

Thanks so much everyone. I'll have a read through and look these up.

I seem to be allergic to the Maybelline ones. I like Max Factor False Lash Effect or Masterpiece Max, both in the waterproof versions.

Any non-waterproof ones are shit on me, expensive or cheap.

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/07/2022 15:22

Superdrug ones have always worked for me.

EveParker22 · 13/07/2022 15:33

I bought a Mac one recently that was amazing was quite expensive.

My best budget mascara is 100% loreal million lashes

Lozois99 · 14/07/2022 11:24

Essence from Wilko! Its insanely good and about £3!!
Also loads of the other Essence stuff is worth a try

MrsPetty · 14/07/2022 17:57

Max Factor Masterpiece. I’ve been using it for years and years and dread it ever being discontinued. I’ve had many given to me over the years - Lancôme, Mac, Benefit … but nothing has come close.

Chatterboxy · 14/07/2022 18:09

Natural Collection one from Boots, under a fiver! A lot of the ‘posh ones’ used to make my eyes itch & water.

LifesTooShortForYourNonsense · 14/07/2022 18:39

Maybeline dries my lashes out so they break and get short. I use Poppy Austin now which looks after your lashes so they grow long. Stays put but obvs don’t get the instant length, but better in the long run, about £12

Partyatno10 · 14/07/2022 19:15

Max factor masterpiece. Best mascara doesn't smudge

iCouldSleepForAYear · 14/07/2022 19:19

Collection lash surge. I can get it brown too.

TheWeeDonkey · 14/07/2022 19:23

At the moment I'm using Kiko Volume and Curl, but mu usual go to is L'Oréal Volume Million Lashes. I like the one in the green tube with the curved brush.

Sagaris · 14/07/2022 20:34

I saw the relaunched Boots 17 mascara recommended somewhere - thought I'd give it a go - I think it was about £4? Brilliant, stays put all day and comes off easily with my usual cleanser.

Univalve · 14/07/2022 21:31

L’Oréal lash paradise - it is amazing. I don’t rate maybelline at all!

Picoloangel · 14/07/2022 21:43

Bookmarking - so need this thread!

Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels · 14/07/2022 21:47

The Primark £2 one seems pretty good. I usually use benefits they're real. I still use the brush from it with the Primark mascara

NotMeekNotObedient · 14/07/2022 22:18

Essence lash princess, you can buy in the UK in Wilko. Lesser known brand here but more widespread in mainland Europe.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 14/07/2022 22:27

Essence I need a miracle.

I love it!

LadyEloise1 · 14/07/2022 23:17

I second Essence I Need A Miracle.

esmeraId · 15/07/2022 11:42

So to update that I bought Essence Lash Princess as that seemed to be mentioned the most. However, although it gives definition and a slight lift it looked slightly clumpy the second time I used it, so I used a lash comb as I'd usually do when this happens, and the mascara shed lots of little black dots. I've only seen shedding like that with fibre mascara.

So I'm going to have another look through the thread and try something else next, maybe a couple.

Told you it was shit 😉

Rina66 · 15/07/2022 19:14

I bought the Collection Lash Surge after seeing it recommended on this post - it's very good, totally stays put and I even slept in it last night (don't ask!) and woke up with my lashes as I went to sleep!

However, it does not hold a curl in your lashes, which is fine if you have a curled lash, mine are worse than straight, so I normally curl them and then use a WP mascara to set them. What I'm finding is that not all WP mascaras set a curl, although they may still be budge proof, which is odd, I wonder what the ingredient is that achieves that?
