What do you wear to work in the summer?

Really struggling - I work in an office type job, not required to be stressed especially smartly but obviously still professional. I am mainly working at home at the moment so it hasn't been too much of an issue but now will be going in for a bit. In general I prefer dresses and in the winter wear tights but not sure what to do in the warm weather as don't like to have my legs out. I'm also quite short and size 16/18.

What are others wearing?

Mostly linen dresses and sandals-Next have some nice ones. I hate tights though and don’t think I’ve worn them since I was at school!!

Top, skirt, bare legs, sandals. I'm all about being comfortable - no way could I wear tights or closed shoes in summer. I moisturise my legs (well, all year round) and have a pedicure.

What's wrong with having your legs out? Would you feel better wear a longer skirt? Fake tan? Obviously trousers are an option too.

Dresses or long skirt/top with white trainers, we're not supposed to wear open toes.

Thanks for the responses. DisplayPurposesOnly I'm just self conscious about how I look so prefer to cover up but obviously in summer that's more difficult!

I have some long jersey summer dresses from boden that might work for you. They do plenty of styles in petite.

Ebonyhorse · 09/07/2022 11:55

Cotton shirt dresses. Avoid polyester at all costs.

greyinganddecaying · 09/07/2022 12:04

Linen trousers/loose fitting trousers and linen T-shirt generally.
Often sandals too

Linen trousers + t-shirt & blazer
Midi dressers (cotton or linen) (with sleeves)

Gemi33 · 09/07/2022 16:22

I always think midi dresses won't suit me because I'm quite short but I like the idea as it would cover most of my legs, Anyone seen any nice ones?

Loose trousers and cotton (not jersey) tops. I don't particularly like this look but it'll do to get me through going to the office in the summer. Have always really hated office summer clothing. Life is so much simpler if you have lovely tanned legs - summer dresses and sandals.

@Gemi33 re midi dresses. What's your budget? I've bought this summer some (cotton or linen ones) from amazon (instagram influenced), fatface, h&m, zara...
