Is there a formula to flattering swimwear

I haven't worn a bikini since 2017 and although I am the same size - I am 'thicker' and less toned/more lumpy.

I am 46, I am a size 6-8, wide but not a full bust (D cup but empty) and carry my weight on my hips.

The ones I see on-line that look well cut and flattering, I also think look frumpy.....Clothes and style/fashion are important to me and I want to look stylish but not middle-aged (which I obv am Grin)

Is there a formula, I don't know what I'm looking for.....? All my current swimwear looks 'meh'.

I am going away in 2 months so I will exercise and body brush like a beast but there's only so much I can do Wink

I have never found the answer to this. I don't know what your skin tone is but I always think swimwear looks better on brown skin.
I've tried one piece, Tankini, bikini and feel not great in all of them. I guess it's just my perception. I'm not a beach babe type- pasty skin, cellulite, mid 40s.
I feel self conscious for a bit, then I stop caring. Everyone in Spain is in bikinis, all shapes and sizes. I just get on with it. Or wear a nice kimono when you walk around pool/beach that you remove for swimming?

Thanks for the reply - I am indeed super pale - I have a gradual tanner that I will use too.

My problem is that I like to look natural, I wear no makeup and like to be pale but that's ok when you're 25.....😃

I think it’s about not trying too hard to cover up. As soon as you do, you look frumpy.
i think you want flattering cuts not covering cuts and often people confuse the two

around your boobs try to get rounded cups to create an illusion of a full cup, you can also get padded.
i think a high leg would be good as well with your figure.
lean into the wider hips, it can be sexy

i think ultimately it’s confidence and looking healthy - skin moisturised, clear skin etc

try to find colours that flatter your skin tone too
