City break with kids - day bag ideas

Hi

I'm taking my children to France this Summer and will be spending a few days visiting different towns/cities including Paris. I'm trying to find a bag that will be suitable for these days out. I'd be worried that a backpack wouldn't be safe (easy to access when on my back) so I'm thinking possibly a cross body bag of some type? Ideally as well as purse, phone, brush, etc. I could fit in a bottle of water.

Budget wise......anything up to £50 ish ideally.

Thanks in advance

I know you said no to a Backpack

Sorry, posted too soon. This one has a zip pocket on the inside and also a zip pocket on the back side so plenty of secure places for valuables.

I just use my normal handbag but also take a tote bag to hold coats, drinks, snacks etc. Less chance of a leak inside my nice handbag.

Thank you. I've ended up ordering one from Weird Fish in the sale. Currently waiting for it to arrive but think it ticks all the right boxes!

Single parent and we do lots of city breaks

Unless you want to be stopping to buy water, you’ll need a back back. I pack three bottles of water, plus wallet, phone, portable charger, plasters and wipes. Abs invariably I throw in snacks so then we can have lunch as a picnic and just buy baguettes.

i have a brilliant one but it was £90 so no point recommending but if you get yourself on blacks or millets, they do robust streamlines ones.
