Shoes and bag advice for wedding please!

Hi, I've got a wedding to go to next month and I've just changed my mind about the dress and the shoes and bag I've bought, don't go at all.

Picture of new dress is hopefully attached.

I don't wear heels at all, it's not happening. I need flat, comfortable shoes.
I'm not really a sparkly sandal type and I don't think that would go with the dress anyway.

I was thinking of a really nice pair of tan leather gladiator sandals but is that too casual?
Or a ballet pump, maybe cream with an ankle strap.
It's a really nice venue.

Then what the hell do I do about a bag? Cream/green/tan again? There's a tiny bit of blue (teal) in the paisley and some yellow. There's also some lilac but I'm not really keen on picking out that colour. I'm edging towards neutral accessories but I don't want to make it drab.

Budget is limited as I've already spent £100 on shoes and a bag I can't wear to this. 😄

Help me please.

Maybe a mustard yellow straw bag and the same colour wedges

Feel free to laugh me of MN

Any light coloured strappy sandals if you've got nice toes, failing which ballet flats picking up any colour from the dress.

So far as a bag, personally I hardly notice bags. It will spend most of the time under your seat or at best tucked under your arm anyway. Any small bag picking up any of the colours. I'd spend more on the sandals/ shoes as they will be noticed and almost nothing on the bag if you haven't got anything already which might do

No, as long as light tan and not thick straps.

Mustard could be good but I don't want to match bag with shoes. I think straw might make it too casual.

I love bags though so I'm happy for an excuse to buy one.
I do have a really cute tan cross body bag but it's quite an 'every day' one.

I did think maybe gold gladiator sandals? There's a little bit of sparkly thread running through the dress. I keep trying to post a better picture but the photo uploading bit is so shit!

I think tan sandals would be fine, with nice nail polish on your toes.

Bag

Another bag

Both of these are cheap and (imho!) quite cute and unobtrusive.

Agree with @TheLassWiADelicateAir Don't worry too much about the bag; hardly anybody will notice it, but make sure the shoes are comfortable and go with the dress.

I reverse searched it. You can pick up gold, green, cream, yellow, pink and brown. Is there even tiny hints of pale blue.

I agree sparkly sandals- straw would be lovely too but would dress it down.

@TheLassWiADelicateAir fab thanks! The pink is actually lilac in the flesh which I don't really like but it works in the dress as it's subtle.

I'm off to find some goldy sandals. 👍

I really like the first one, I'll have a look at accessorize.

God I hate “ballet flats”. Much prefer your gladiator sandals suggestion! They’d look great with your dress. I’d go for a bag in oak/tan too.

bouncydog · 04/07/2022 21:49

Try Amazon for a small gold clutch bag to go with the sandals. I needed a couple for weddings - tried everywhere and was happy to pay a silly amount! Couldn’t find anything so tried Amazon not at all hopeful - found just what I needed under £20 each!

What about a Green bag with some gold?

Dress is fabulous. Where's it from?

AnImaginaryCat · 04/07/2022 22:20

And some gold sandals ?

Something like this could work.

These - or pretty well anything else on the website that you like and are in the right colours - the most fab shoes....
