Best flip flop/sandals for sore shins?

I've just realised that there may be a connection between the plain Havainas and Palmairas that I live in and the really painful shins I've been getting at night. I was wondering about a more supportive equivalent, perhaps some Birkenstocks that my toes don't have to work so hard to hold on to?

Any suggestions? 🤔

The Birkenstock Mayaris are very supportive and comfortable. They take about two weeks to break in though. I get shin pain from very flat shoes and the Mayaris work very well for me.

I had this (caused by running though) and Fitflops were by far the best. Now I wear those and Birkenstocks a lot in summer, but if I leave off wearing the Fitflops for too long, my shins start to get sore again.

I also wear Fitflops as slippers/around the house.

I like Lulus they have micro wobble board technology AKA don't make feet or shins hurt

Here are mine They're called The Skinny for some reason (they seem pretty wide to me!) and I think Fitflop still do something fairly similar. Agree with previous poster that the wobble board technology is the thing to look for. Don't know if all Fitflops have that - I assumed they did but could be wrong. Just did miles in them again today 🙂 Good luck with your search. Having trouble adding image but will persevere....

you need something that's not 'toe-grabby'
and ideally something with a slight heel, nothing completely flat.

some styles birkenstock could work (arizona)
or have a look at hiking sandals.

also, do stome stretches of your calf & your shin (look up stretches for skin splint on youtube)
