going to a pretty smart (but prob not hats??) wedding in mid march and don't know what i should go for. I am 5 feet 11", size 12 on top, size 14 on bottom half, have pretty pale skin and blonde curls. Want to feel comfy but stylish too, and i HATE being cold so probably needs sleeves?
Budget probably £60 max so no much!
March is funny - not really winter clothes but summer frocks aren't really a good idea either..Any ideas ladies..? ta!

thanks..
its not in a church but a v posh hotel,
i do glam quite well (if i do say so myself ) as i am so tall with lots of curls.
Hmm yes i do like that dress style maryann, think the colours would make me look a bit washed out but think a wrap dress in brighter colours may be the way to go with a posh cardi..
any more ideas welcome!

have you looked at Monsoon ? there's lot of of monochrome stuff though and some of the prints are a bit garish and all the frocks I liked were over the budget - grr !

dee24 · 16/01/2008 15:30

How about this wrap dress with this stunning wrap in black? Or it would look gorgeous with a posh cardy if you prefer

I do love clothes, wish I had something to buy it for

dee24 · 16/01/2008 15:36

this one is lovely too, and will really suit if you are pale.

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/01/2008 19:23

the first one is lovely, with a posh cardi rather than wrap !

Slouchy · 16/01/2008 19:28

Trouser suit with sexy top (corset?) underneath for dancing. Foxy wrap over jacket if outsid and chilly.
And GREAT heels.

fairylights · 16/01/2008 19:46

ooh dee24, i LOVE the first and third dresses you linked, especially the first one! Exactly my kind of thing! Will prob have to find something to wear over it to keep me warm, any ideas on that? Would never have thought to have looked at littlewoods direct - thanks so much for that! You can come and be my personal stylist anytime (but as a SAHM/student i don't often need to look very exciting!)

Your welcome They do have great end of season sales, I got some really nice things this year!

I don't get much of a chance to dress up these days but I do like to look glam when need be. Personally I love the first one, it looks stunning!

I think a posh cardy or long sleeved bolero cardy in black would look nice and keep you warm for piccys outside etc, oasis have a nice one here Some gorgeous black peep toe shoes like these and a clutch bag and you will look amazing!

The green dress would look lovely with either a cardy or bolero again but in gold, lovely! Something like this

Best bet would be to get to the sales as you should get some shoes and a nice cardy quite cheap in debenhams or frasers (if they are nearby), and monsoon have some lovely bargains just now.

fairylights · 16/01/2008 22:42

dee24, am so impressed - how do you find all these things?? when i am rich i will employ a stylist.. i really have no idea where to start with fashion and am always a bit less adventurous than i could be..
my ultra stylish sister despairs of me!
thanks aain

I just love shopping, don't get to half as much as I'd like lol! Spent silly amounts at the sales this year in a bid to dress more stylish

If you really wanted to be very adverturous you could wear purple with red sounds crazy but looks fab....and your ultra stylish sister would be very impressed!

Hi Dee24,

I'm hijacking and hope no one minds but couldn't resist a bit of advice. Also have March 1st wedding, I'll be 15 weeks pregnant and as my boobs have inflated from 34DD to 34F in the last 4 weeks I'm finding it difficult to find something that doesnt make me look like a porn star or sofa! Generally 5 foot 5 inches, size 12, very pale with dark hair.

Like all pregnant girls I don't want to spend a fortune on something I'll only wear once.

Arrrrggghh! Any ideas?

fairylights · 17/01/2008 19:10

hope dee24 comes back to give you some wise words merry!

Ok, tricky but have done my best!

For a glam look - this dress as the model doesn't seem to have a huge bump so I'm sure it will suit lol! Accessorise with red, some red court shoes, matching bag and some chunky red beads. Don't do this online tho as the colour could be different that in the piccy you see!

For a more relaxed look - Something like this with cream trousers. Or this gorgeous top with white trousers and chunky black accessories (shoes, bag and again some beads)

Some nice trousers here

My personal favourite would be the red silk blouse with white trews and black access. Super stylish

A really good place to check out would be new look if you have a large store nearby. Their maternity range is usually stylish and very affordable.
