Can't find a thing that suits... wedding guest with a fat tummy!

Hello, please help! I've got stuck looking for something to wear to a friend's wedding. I have put on a lot of weight in the past couple of years especially around my middle (thanks menopause!) I think the kind term is apple shape, but basically I've got a fat tummy… I'm now size 18 (16 on a good day, but realistically...)

There will be a lot of people there that I won't have seen in years from university, and to be honest I really hate the way I look at the moment. I'm starting to dread the wedding, which should really be a happy day. I'll be going on my own as well which doesn't really help... Unfortunately I have some huge deadlines coming up and various other huge but temporary time sucks, so for now I have to put up with it...

I really want to enjoy the wedding and not worry about seeing all the people who have managed to keep themselves looking fabulous.

I have been looking for something like a long sleeved shift dress - my legs are okay. I wondered about a maxi dress, but that might make me look even more huge...

Can anyone help with an idea?

Have you considered a midi wrap style? With 3/4 length sleeves.

Have a look at one hundred stars

@pumpkinpie01 love girl in mind! They're quite generous on sizes I find, I've got a dress I've worn for years and quality is great

@Flopsy145 I bought a dress from there the other week for a wedding only cost me £35 it fits perfectly ( I'm a generous size 12) it was so flattering I love it !

@pumpkinpie01 exactly the same as me I just got a dress from there for a wedding and also a generous size 12 😂 there's a lot on eBay as well for slightly cheaper if there's not a deal on.

@Flopsy145 I have 2 events in the next month that require a dress so tempted to just wear it again and again . It looks so much more expensive than it is and I hate dress shopping! Think will look on eBay actually 😀

What about this sort of dress with cobalt shoes?

What height are you OP? I'm short and big tummied and I think things with a waist are recommended as loose stuff can swamp and look shapeless .

I have a fat tummy and have found this dress really flattering www.jigsaw-online.com/products/cotton-botanical-floral-maxi-dress-green?variant=42436596203686&gclid=CjwKCAjwquWVBhBrEiwAt1Kmwn16ReZp_j9S1H1yoWQ70iRYUzXoFcXHbCKnCMD_1p7ggn6PDzi0ehoCp0IQAvD_BwE

It has a belt for definition which sits at your natural waist (higher than you think)- oddly the model only has it on in some of the pics- and the pattern helps break up the expanse of tum. It's v dressed down on the website but you can just as easily dress it up for a wedding. Sizes are generous so a 16 might well work.

Would this work ? Also in pink .

girlinmind.com/collections/dresses/products/frances-asymmetric-wrap-midi-dress-cobalt How about something like this? asymmetric hem distracts from tum (I feel your pain!)

I've got a bit of a pouch and I always go for ruching along the mid-line. Its very flattering and still stylish.
