How to look after hair and ends

I had to trim my hair recently. I got 2 inches off my hair. It's slightly disappointing because I would like to grow my hair long and healthy. I can grow my hair to about my bra strap length but every time it reaches that point the ends are thin and uneven so I have to trim to get the bad ends off.

What's the best way to look after my hair and the ends to try and achieve healthy hair growth.

I wash my hair about twice a week. I use nioxion shampoo and conditioner and treatment. I do t usually use heat but I lately I think my hair is better with a little heat. I let my hair dry naturally about 70/80% and then I use a volumisier brush. I use a heat protector too. Aside from that I don't usually style my hair.

Should I be using a hair mask or a deep conditioner on my ends after every wash instead of a regular conditioner? I wonder would that help.

I would love to achieve healthy growth.

My diet is good filled with plenty of vegetables and eggs and water and supplements. I limit meat. I recently started taking an iron supplement to see if it helps with my hair. Blood tests revealed that I have low iron and my levels were 4 last summer.

I am using a big silk loose scrunchy for tieing up my hair.

Quick tips: protective styles like plaits (yes to scrunchies, you can also buy mini silk scrunchies for the ends) and oil the ends of your hair daily. I like Olaplex 7 bonding oil, but something like that.

I wouldn't bother with heat much at all if you can avoid it. I rarely dry mine with a hairdryer or use straighteners (but I use protective spray when I do).

I also take biotin which I'm sure helps. My hair is now waist length (just below now actually) but I'm aiming for classic length.
