I've just bought a winter coat and sheepskin slippers

Went to the John Lewis sale looking for holiday clothes and came away with a hooded Barbour jacket and some very cosy slipper boots instead.

They were a lot more reduced than the summer stuff, and whilst I'm hoping not to need them for months, at least I'll be prepared when winter hits! 😆

This is the coat - it actually looks lovely on, and to my delight the size 8 is roomy enough on me to wear a thick jumper under it.

I loved how busy and bustling it was. You don't get that feeling much anymore when shopping.

And these are the slippers. In middle age I've become a person who will only wear silk pyjamas and sheepskin slippers, but because such things are expensive, I hunt for them in the sales.

I have just had thermal underwear from Uniglo delivered that was in their sale!!!!

Ooh, I listened along with that last Christmas and loved it! I loathe winter (genuinely cannot stand the cold, but we have a dog now, so I really need a good winter coat) but I adore Christmas.

I just bought two winter coats this week too - at half price I don't care if they aren't the "right" style for next winter. One's a huge duvet coat, and the dog doesn't care what I wear as long as he gets a walk!
