Scent that's not a "perfume"

I've seen how people seem to know lots here about perfume, but I want more of a specific scent and not necessarily a traditional perfume!

I absolutely love lemongrass and bergamot. Strong, citrusy smells are really clearing for my brain and make my head feel better on a bad migraine day (of which I have MANY). I have worn Coco Mademoiselle and Cacharel's Eden over the last decade or so, but I'm going off eau de toilette type scents I think.

I can't bear patchouli, lavender, geranium, rose, sandalwood and anything too heavy like Opium gives me an instant migraine.

Can anyone advise on what I want to look for? I can buy essential oils to wear on my throat and wrists, but I don't find they stay on me for long - I'd much prefer a spray type of scent to wear on my clothes if I can. I've also tried "Aromaworks" Bergamot and Lemongrass room / linen spray which smells amazing but doesn't last well and isn't a strong scent.

All help gratefully received!

Coco Mademoiselle is very patchouli heavy. Did you like it when you wore it of did it give you a headache? I think you need to try lots as you may not actually like or dislike what you think you do. Rose can be heavy but can also smell very fresh. Some of the Jo Loves scents are lovely (pomelo is nice and citrusy).

Clarins Eau Dynamisante is a very fresh smelling cologne type of spray. I’ve just finished an old bottle and forgotten how much I liked it in hot weather, so will be buying a new bottle.

I love the blue bottle!

Boots do a huge bottle of lemon cologne for about £8.

This time of year I use a lot of the 4711 colognes, they do a whole range of different scents now, currently have a citrusy one - very refreshing in the heat

Hmm obvious advertising.

Eau Sauvage (the original, or at least the version of it available now rather than the Johnny Depp one) is very lemony. I wear it often 😊
