I want a sea breeze with maybe a walk through the woods, camping beside an open fire, open water. A fresh summer/coastal scent that isn't cloying like the old Bodyshop Oceanus. It would work well for running on the beach in shorts and a tee but also for evening dining.

Does something like this exist?
I like the 'palm trees' and other 'provenance' range from M&S but they don't last 5 mins on me.

You lot guided me to Cliniques 'elixir' last xmas and it is still my favourite winter scent, so I trust you with my summer one!

The M&S Calm after the Storm recommended above is a good one!

I love Rituals 'Ocean Infini' in summer. It's like a softer version of Cool Water - a beautiful oceanic fragrance which makes me feel I'm on holiday when I wear it 😀🌴

Wood sage and sea salt by Jo Malone is pretty much the scent you describe

I also love Un Jardin Sur Le Nil by Hermes for summer. It’s glorious

See I never get the Bobbi Brown Beach reccomendation on threads like this. It's a lovely perfume but it's a light jasmine scent with no salt or sand notes at all.

Clean cool cotton
MMM sailing day
Might be worth smelling CK one summer, they do a different one every year and I haven't smelt this years

I don't know how I forgot this one! It's one of my faves

There used to be a perfume that ticked all of the boxes that you're looking for @otterlybonkers - it was called New West. I would love it if whichever perfumerie made it in the past brought it out again. It had a really fresh, just out of the shower/walk by the beach scent

LookItsMeAgain · 21/06/2022 21:04

Just discovered that it was made by Aramis:

Clarins Eau Ressourcante fits the bill, i love it - so clean and fresh, it makes me feel great after a shower on holiday.

Its also only about £30 and lasts for ages 👍🏻

@Judystilldreamsofhorses wasn't intending to come across as rude, just being honest really. After a quick read up on fragrantica it seems quite a few others pick up the fish-y note so there's a reasonable chance the OP might too.
Anyway each to their own and all that

A bit mainstream, but Estee Lauder's Bronze Goddess always sees me through the Summer months.

Seriously79 · 22/06/2022 18:54

For a clean fresh, last all day smell, my go to is Elizabeth Arden Green Tea.

Sortilege · 22/06/2022 18:54

Dior Dune?

BloomsburyNook · 22/06/2022 21:07

to those who are familiar with the laboratory perfumes, are they unisex? I am looking for something just like the gorse and samphire but dont suit masculine scents. Any info appreciated! For instance, I hate Byredo and diptyque fragrances.

Maison Margiela Replica Beach Walk is my favourite scent of all time -

It's a complete day by the sea in a bottle, and absolutely gorgeous!

sparklexo · 22/06/2022 21:21

Try the "replica" fragrances they have a lot of fragrances that would be perfect for this x

SilentBob · 22/06/2022 21:26

The old acqua di Gio was a wonderful fresh sea breeze epitomised for me- it was 'my' scent and I adored it. I know they brought it back more recently but haven't tried it. Not sure I'm capturing the camp fire but with it but I used it for both night and day and it worked perfectly.

(Must smell the more recent incarnation. If indeed that one is still around)

LookdeepintotheParka · 22/06/2022 21:49

I absolutely loved Aqua di Gio @SilentBob Brings back happy memories of summers in the 90s 😀
