Mother of the bride - what do I wear?

Hoping for some inspiration from you!
I simply don’t know where to look, or what to look for. My lifestyle doesn’t require formal outfits. The wedding is in October, at a country house venue. I’m 60, size 10-12. I am not into frills or chiffon & don’t want to spend crazy money on a dress I will only ever wear once.
My safe option would be something like this www.theprettydresscompany.com/clothing-c1/dresses-c2/the-pretty-dress-company-tegan-wrap-top-pencil-dress-p167#attribute%5B1%5D=3 but would really like something a bit more “statement”.
What do I look for & where? Would happily hire something suitable rather than buying.
Any help very gratefully received

Sounds like you are lovely & slim. How about a nice dress or jumpsuit from Nancy Mac. Or self portrait do nice dresses. Following with interest OP as I’m mother of the groom in September & still have no idea what to wear.

That dress is lovely. With some statement jewellery, shoes, bag and hat/fascinated it would be perfect

Totally in the same boat apart from not being slim - daughter's wedding 1st October - one of those 3 day affairs in country house in Devon so could be wet and muddy. Plus size sadly (5' 10" height) - Im the opposite of wearing a fascinator etc vibe and number one plus is to have comfortable footwear and not freeze to death. Nothing frilly or flouncy as 67 and dont want to scare the horses. Basically has to be simple but effective. Shirt dress styles suit me but then I dont want anything itchy so wool is out.

If your budget can stretch, the silk blend dresses are particularly elegant, but they are all lovely.

My daughter got married last year, I really didn’t want the traditional MOB outfit of a jacket and dress combo but didn’t want anything too fussy either. I bought this dress in French navy and hired a hat, many people commented on the outfit and I felt very confortable and happy in it. It was bought from John Lewis and is by Gina Bacconi.

ive bought this for my daughters wedding in August. I’m 10-12 non frilly too! Usual default would be a pencil dress but I wanted something different this time. This is a decent price, nice thick but slightly stretchy fabric so very forgiving. Loads of other possibles on the site too if you aren’t keen on this one.

There are some great suggestions here - thank you so much! I will have a good look over the next couple of days. It’s good to know I’m not the only one struggling with this decision
