Jeans. . . I’m lost!

I really need to stop wearing skinnies. Sometimes they look good, but sometimes they just don’t!

I’ve tried the baggy boyfriend jeans and I just looked enormous and misshapen. I also hate high waisted jeans because they seem to press my stomach down and out, again a rather mishappen look!

Im 5ft7, a size 12, and am 38.

Any recommendations? Has anyone worked out the jeans issue?

Perhaps allow yourself out of jeans tyranny!
I am slim and average height an dont like denim full stop. I find it restrictive, stiff and it clings on to water. I love the idea of it, but not the reality, so I gave it up. I wear all sorts of other things now, mostly leggings and cotton trousers, dresses, etc. I don't miss the hassle of finding the right jeans at all.

As for M&S, great selection but all of their jeans have badly placed back pockets that make my otherwise decent arse look square.

Fatface and Joules were the best for my derrière, if truth were told.

I wear straightlegged jeans or girlfriend jeans a size smaller than usual, so they don't look huge and shapeless.

There are times when only jeans will do. I'm going to a picnic tomorrow. I can't wear a dress because I'll be sitting on the floor. I can't wear summer trousers because it won't be that warm and I need something in tough material to be sitting on the floor. I can't think of anything else that would work.
